What we like: Our top pick for the best budget digital alarm clock with a large face. The largest numerical display of all the options we tested. Setting the time is intuitive, with clearly labeled buttons. Two USB ports to charge most mobile devices and to power the clock.

Other things to know: The two backup AAA batteries only maintain the time and alarm settings during power outages. The logo emblazoned at the top (underneath the snooze button) is downright ugly. On sale in white, RGB-black, and RGB-white. Recurring deal.

What we like: Our top padded, contoured sleep mask pick. Soft, adjustable, and comfortable. Drops the world into complete darkness as soon as you put it on. Goggle-like design keeps a little space between the mask and wearer’s eyes. Best for side- and back-sleepers. Stays in place all night.

Other things to know: Also recommended in our travel gear guide. Compression of memory foam isn’t for everyone, as it puts some pressure on orbital bone and eye socket. Hand-wash only. Recurring deal. On sale in five colors.

What we like: Another good sleep tracker worth considering. Discreet and easy to use. It also provides highly accurate heart-rate monitoring and solid information on your sleep cycles. Lots of data, but presented well and easy to digest.

Other things to know: Expensive, and its fitness-tracking capabilities are poor, but we still think it may give you some eye-opening insights into your body and well-being. Deal price on black or silver color. Generation 3 version; currently our top pick, but will soon be replaced by the Gen 4 model and deemed worth considering (we’ll update our guide soon). Lowest price we’ve seen.

What we like: A staff pick and another good blanket if you want one that feels like the cool side of the pillow. Made of Tencel fabric on the outside sandwiched around a layer of Sorona fill on the inside. The best cooling bedding we've tested so far. Consistently feels cool on the skin, even after washing.

Other things to know: Very thin and slippery, so it’s challenging to use as a top layer on the bed. Works best if it sits directly against the skin. Materials aren’t as breathable as those of our picks made with cotton or linen, and it’s dense. A hard blanket to share with another person. Available in blue, purple, and off-white.

What we like: Our bedding expert’s favorite luxury sheets. Italian-made sateen, using the highest-grade variety of Egyptian extra-long-staple cotton. Senior staff writer Jackie Reeve writes, “They felt like silk. I couldn’t stop touching them, running my bare feet over them, and wiggling around on them.”

Other things to know: Also one of our favorite luxurious gifts. Good discount relative to street price, but still a massive splurge. Price reflects in cart when you add standard pillowcases (pair), queen-size flat sheet, and queen-size fitted sheet to cart.

What we like: Our top supportive-mattress pick for under $500. This medium-firm hybrid mattress won testers over with its substantial, supportive feel and excellent edge support. Testers of all sleep positions loved it. Siena offers the longest home trial we’ve seen. Handles on the sides make changing the sheets easier.

Other things to know: May feel too firm for side-sleepers or those who prefer to be cradled by their mattresses. 180-night home trial period. 10-year limited warranty. Deal for the queen size is solid, but we were hoping to see $400 again.

What we like: Our top sleep headphones pick for blocking and masking sounds. Customizable fit, with three sizes of wings and seven sets of ear tips. Bluetooth connectivity enabled. Long battery life: 10 hours of streaming or 14 hours of preloaded sounds. Charging case provides around five full charges.

Other things to know: The built-in alarm lacks the ability to snooze. No microphones for taking calls. The earbuds can track your sleep, but the data may not be as in-depth as that of formal sleep-tracking devices. At Walmart, clip on-page coupon and use free Walmart account.

What we like: The best budget down-alternative comforter. Better than any under-$50 option we’ve ever tried. Warm yet relatively breathable. Well-constructed and better at regulating heat than pricier down-alternative comforters we tried. Machine-washable.

Other things to know: May be fine to use without a cover, but we recommend one to extend its life. The corner loops are small, so threading them through duvet cover ties is a challenge. No warranty.

What we like: A cheap and convenient lamp we like in our bedside table lamps guide. Small but hardworking: Its two USB ports will charge your electronics while you sleep. Fabric-style version comes with a shade reminiscent of a classic linen and a metal, wood-pattern laminate-covered base.

Other things to know: Considering its low cost, we’re not sure how long it will last, but we’ve been using ours for months. Base looks cheap (because it is). Dimmer toggles from low to high, instead of from high to low. Comes in multiple colors, but deal price is for the fabric style.
